Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Ghana Independence

M.A.M.A.’s significant contribution to the celebration of cultural diversity in Bongo, Bolga, and Tamale not only commemorated the 50th year of Ghanaian Independence and 200 years of slavery abolition, but also launch the philanthropic partnership of the MAMA Indigenous Knowledge Study and Volunteer Networks between MAMA and the government of Ghana. The coalition actively involved Boniface Gamillam, the Upper East Regional Minister, the Ghanaian Minister of Tourism, the paramount Chief of the Bongo District, as well as Chiefs from 32 surrounding municipalities, and a three day long welcome celebration (MAKE ROOM FOR PICTURES TO BE ADDED LATER). The theme is what has the African government done and what are they currently doing and planning to do about improving the relationship between African Americans and Africans.

The African American participants in the Indigenous  Knowledge Study had the honor to then participate in the celebration of cultural diversity in Bongo where they were able to present their newly acquired skills to the Chief and local community at an official, government sanctioned celebratory event commemorating Ghana’s 50th year anniversary.
